The Vela catalogue

Plywood.
From furniture to fit-outs.

Layers of wood veneer bonded with alternating grain directions form a panel to cut and machine for your project. Compare the options by weight, appearance and where they will be used.

Poplar, birch, okoumé and softwood.

The product pages cover face grades, sizes and thicknesses, along with options for specific uses.

Poplar plywood

For furniture, display units and camper interiors where weight matters. Light and easy to machine, it provides a base for painting or facing. Choose the face grade to suit the finish.

Birch plywood

For shelves, furniture and fit-outs with light-coloured surfaces and exposed layered edges. Its stiffness and machinability help create components to a drawing. The range also includes anti-slip versions for load decks.

Okoumé plywood

For counters, wall panelling and door facings. Both the faces and core layers are okoumé. The panel can be machined into shaped parts and finished to leave the wood visible.

Phenolic softwood plywood

For crates, containers and furniture components. Different face grades let you select panels according to which parts will be visible. In this range, “phenolic” refers to the bond: the faces are bare wood, without a film coating.

Veneered plywood

For wall panelling, door facings and furniture components. A thin layer of real wood lets you choose the colour and grain. The range comes in 4 and 8 mm thicknesses, ready to finish for the intended use.

HPL-faced plywood

For cabinet doors, shelves and office or shop furniture. The poplar core has laminate on both faces, so painting is not needed. Cut-to-size panels and edge banding can also be requested.
